Is cornerback the biggest need for the San Francisco 49ers in this year's draft? Not according to Trent Baalke's recent comments to Bay Area football scribes.
For starters, the 49ers signed veteran cornerback Shareece Wright in the opening stages of free agency to boost a young group of perimeter defenders.
Wright, who will continue to wear No. 29 in San Francisco, made 27 starts in four years with the San Diego Chargers. The 27-year-old cornerback will be in the mix to start for the 49ers along with Tramaine Brock, Dontae Johnson, Chris Cook and others on the roster.
