The record-breaking heat for a San Francisco 49ers game at Levi’s Stadium has sent fans at the game down to the concourses.
According to Fox — the network broadcasting Sunday’s game — the temperature was 95 degrees at kickoff and hit 100 degrees in the middle of the second quarter. Bay Area News Group photographer Jose Carlos Fajardo posted a photo on X of a temperature gauge in the stadium showing the temperature at 112 degrees down on the field.
This reporter’s mother, Angie Simon, is attending Sunday’s game sitting on the east side of the stadium (where there is little shade to escape the triple-digit heat in the stands) and sent SFGATE video showing dozens of fans down on the concourse, watching the 49ers’ blocked field goal that the team returned for a touchdown on a television screen.
