49ers fans could hardly contain their glee after pulling out a last-second victory over the New Orleans Saints to regain their position at the top of the NFC playoff race on Sunday.
San Francisco’s winning field goal was set up by a dramatic run by Niners tight end George Kittle. He caught a ball thrown by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on a fourth-and-two in their half of the field and ran down the sideline, eventually carrying three Saints players before being taken down. New Orleans safety Marcus Williams even tried to take Kittle down with his facemask, which only resulted in a penalty that helped set up the game-winning field goal and the final 48-46 scoreline.
