49ers envision new role for Tank Carradine

The 49ers are going back to the drawing board with Tank Carradine, a second-round pick in the 2013 draft.

Carradine played 30 snaps in Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks as a situational pass-rusher, lining up across from left guard. His involvement dropped to nine plays a week later against the St. Louis Rams.

On Sunday, Carradine was the only 49ers player who suited up but did not play in their 17-16 victory over the Atlanta Falcons at Levi’s Stadium.

“I want to utilize Tank in some different situations in the game,” 49ers coach Jim Tomsula said.
