The officials in Sunday's NFC championship game might allow San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles defensive linemen to tee off on Brock Purdy and Jalen Hurts — provided the defenders can reach the QBs without getting tackled or strangled first.
In a preview of the game, ESPN's Kevin Seifert noted that Sunday's scheduled official John Hussey has presided over a crew that has thrown only two flags for roughing the passer and 24 flags for offensive holding all season. Both of those marks are the lowest in the NFL among officiating crews in 2022.
