In five drafts during which general manager Trent Baalke has called the shots for the 49ers, the team has selected only one wide receiver within the top three rounds.
The 49ers whiffed with the 30th overall pick in 2012 with the selection of A.J. Jenkins. Other than that, the 49ers have taken a pass when it comes to adding wideouts through the draft, giving themselves little chance of adding a young, dynamic player at that position.
