49ers cut Dylan Thompson from QB derby; sign 12 undrafted rookies, all but two draft picks

Quarterback Dylan Thompson, guard Jordan Devey, running back Kendall Gaskins and kicker Corey Acosta were cut Friday by the 49ers, who announced they’ve signed 12 undrafted free agents and signed all but two from their 11-man draft class.

Top pick DeForest Buckner is among those who’ve signed their rookie contracts, and the only ones yet to do so are fellow first-round guard Joshua Garnett and third-round cornerback Will Redmond.

A dozen undrafted free agents signed three-year contracts, including Cal wide receiver Bryce Treggs and Stanford wide reciever Devon Cajuste and linebacker Kevin Anderson. Others were Oregon lineman Alex Balducci, Colorado safety Jered Bell, Arizona State defensive lineman Demetrius Cherry, Utah linebacker Jason Fanaika, Nevada linebacker Lenny Jones, Alabama defensive lineman Darren Lake, Liberty kicker John Lunsford, Baylor lineman (and Australia native) Blake Muir and Southern Mississippi offensive lineman Norman Price.
