Colin Kaepernick’s hat sales trumped those of any other NFL player over the past year, the NFL Players Association announced Monday.
Kap’s caps weren’t all that sold in the most tumultuous year of his career. Kaepernick-related merchandise, some of which got discounted upon his midseason benching, was the 13th-hottest seller from March 1, 2015 to last Feb. 29.
Tom Brady led all player-merchandise sales, as the New England Patriots quarterback and Bay Area native ranked ahead of Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Cal product Aaron Rodgers and Dez Bryant.

Kaepernick’s jersey sales peaked shortly after he led the 49ers to Super Bowl XLVII, as his was the hottest seller heading into the 2013 training camp.
