With two straight embarrassing appearances, the latest a 40-point demolition at the hands of a division foe, the San Francisco 49ers are facing tough times in this young NFL season. It almost makes sense for some frustrated souls to start calling for the canning of head coach Jim Tomsula and quarterback Colin Kaepernick — after all, we know Jed York and Trent Baalke aren’t going anywhere — but what would it take, realistically, for the 49ers to move on from Tomsula after just one year?
