LATEST Feb. 26, 11:15 a.m. Now-former San Francisco 49ers quarterbacks coach Brian Griese decided to leave coaching to spend more time with his family, general manager John Lynch confirmed on Wednesday after multiple reports indicated such Tuesday.
The San Francisco Chronicle was first to report that Griese “decided to end” his time as a coach. (The Chronicle and SFGATE are both owned by Hearst but have separate newsrooms.) Lynch confirmed the reason while speaking with reporters during a press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
