San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey on Monday led a chorus of running backs who were upset at the financial outlook of their position in the NFL.
More specifically, they weren't happy with how Las Vegas's Josh Jacobs, New York's Saquon Barkley and Dallas's Tony Pollard were given franchise tags — a one-year guaranteed contract worth a non-negotiated salary — instead of long-term contracts, just as they were slated to become unrestricted free agents. Pollard has signed his $10.1 million contract, while Barkley and Jacobs haven't as of Tuesday.
