SANTA CLARA -- Outside linebacker Aaron Lynch said Sunday that a diluted drug test resulted in a four-game suspension he spent the past few months appealing.
"It was just an unreadable specimen for drinking too much water," Lynch said after debuting at training camp on the starting unit. "I entered the league in the program so that (suspension) is the next step."General manager Trent Baalke said the 49ers, prior to drafting Lynch two years ago, knew he was in the NFL's substance-abuse program because of his off-field issues in college."I could have avoided it but I have to take it on the chin and go with it," said Lynch, who will be allowed to work out and attend meetings but not practice during his suspension.49ers camp: Aaron Lynch says 'diluted' test triggered suspension
