The San Francisco 49ers gave wide receiver Deebo Samuel his first day off of training camp Sunday. So, without Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk, the depth at wide receiver would be tested.
Jauan Jennings and Chris Conley were the starters. Conley has been the most consistent performer through the first week of pads. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think Conley was a 1,000-yard receiver who had been catching passes from Brock Purdy for the past two seasons.
Jennings has received more work from outside. He has Purdy’s trust. Jennings is the perfect fit for Kyle Shanahan’s offense.
