The San Francisco 49ers are on the search for offensive line talent, and they are not just focusing on the interior. The team brought in Pittsburgh offensive tackle Brian O’Neill for an official visit, according to Matt Maiocco.
The team needs more depth at guard, but they also have to figure out their long-term plans at tackle. Joe Staley turns 34 at the end of the coming preseason, while Trent Brown is coming off a torn labrum and will be a free agent after this season. They could have their bookend tackles for the next couple years, or they could be looking for one or both to be replaced in the very near future.
