The San Francisco 49ers were looking overseas for talent long before they signed Jarryd Hayne away from Australia’s National Rugby League this offseason. Lawrence Okoye, a former British Olympian discus thrower, is entering his third year in the 49ers organization much better suited to make the opening day roster than in either of his first two developmental years on injured reserve and the practice squad.
The first person to say this was Okoye himself, telling 49ers.com, “I definitely feel like I’m good enough to play.
