The only real interesting moment of the San Francisco 49ers’ business-like 38-13 blowout win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday came in the fourth quarter, when a minor skirmish broke out after two Bears combined for a nasty-looking hit on quarterback Brock Purdy.
On second-and-10 from the Niners’ 30-yard line, Purdy stepped up in the pocket to avoid pressure and dump a pass off to tight end Eric Saubert. Bears defensive end Darrell Taylor leaped to try to stop the pass and came down on top of Purdy’s face.
