The San Francisco 49ers announced a couple of roster moves on Saturday and a downgrade in anticipation of Sunday’s game against the Tampa bay Buccaneers. The downgrade goes to Marquise Goodwin as the wide receiver has been listed as doubtful. The move is not injury related as they have said that he’s being excused to “address a personal matter.”
On the roster front, the 49ers have promoted running back Jeff Wilson to the active roster while waiving quarterback Tom Savage. The Savage waive should come as no surprise as he’s been a participant in a 2018 quarterback musical chairs game where the 49ers release him and then sign him again the following week in order to preserve roster spots, provided Savage clears waivers.
