The San Francisco 49ers announced a pair of roster moves on Tuesday. The team signed defensive lineman Datone Jones and cornerback Leon Hall. To make room for them, they released defensive tackle Xavier Cooper and tight end Logan Paulsen.
Jones agreed to his contract on Monday, and will compete as a depth option along a beleaguered defensive line. Arik Armstead was lost for the season in Week 6. Leger Douzable got the start at defensive end last week, but the team was clearly not happy with Cooper on the inside.
