The San Francisco 49ers have traded wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders for a fifth-round pick on Saturday. However, according to multiple reports, the Niners are Commanders discussed a deal that would have brought defensive tackle Jonathan Allen to the Bay Area in exchange for Samuel. Mike Silver of The Athletic, one of the folks who reported on the trade talks, added that Allen could still get dealt to the 49ers in a separate trade, but hinted that they want the Commanders to pick up more of his salary than they have offered to this point.
