Buckner wins Eshmont, Hazeltine
Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner won this season’s Len Eshmont Award, voted upon by teammates and considered the 49ers’ highest honor in recognition of inspirational and courageous play. Buckner, in his third season, also captured the Hazeltine Iron Man Award after starting all 16 games and producing a team-high 12 sacks. He is the first defensive player to win the Eshmont since NaVorro Bowman five years ago, an award that Bryant Young won a record eight times.
