SANTA CLARA – Veteran Leon Hall signed onto a 49ers cornerback corps Tuesday that’s injury riddled and lacking interceptions, a league source said.
Hall, 32, played last season with the New York Giants after nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, who selected him in the 2007 first round.
The 49ers, who worked out Hall the week of their season opener, saw multiple cornerbacks get hurt in Sunday’s 26-23 overtime loss at Indianapolis. Starter Rashard Robinson played through cramps but Ahkello Witherspoon (concussion) and Asa Jackson (hamstring) did not return.
No cornerback has produced an interception yet this season for the winless 49ers (0-5).
