The San Francisco 49ers announced that they’ve activated rookie defensive lineman Robert Beal Jr. from the injured reserve list. Beal, a rookie out of Georgia, has been sidelined all season with a hamstring injury.
General manager John Lynch said a couple of months ago that the team wanted to make sure that Beal was 100 percent healthy before the team brought him back from the injured reserve. It seemed like this season may end up being a “redshirt” for Beal while he recovered. Well, that changes as the 49ers gear up for a playoff run.
Beal can play on the edge and kick inside on obvious passing downs.
