49ers 53-man projection following preseason game 1

We look at the potential roster cuts and salary cap implications after the first preseason game.

The San Francisco 49ers played their first preseason game Sunday evening, and as they prepare for game two, it’s time for a 53-man roster projection. We’re taking a different approach this time around. Jason Hurley has put together a roster projection, factoring in all the salary cap implications. He has listed every player with their cap hit and the dead money the 49ers would accrue this year if they release the player. He has split it up into his 53-man roster (plus suspended Aaron Lynch), injured reserve players, practice squad, and dead money on the books prior to cuts.
