The San Francisco 49ers are now solely focused on what they’ll have to do in the postseason, armed with a first-round playoff bye and home-field advantage after dispatching the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17 en route to both the NFC West crown and No. 1 seed in the conference.
And while head coach Kyle Shanahan gears his squad up for the playoffs, the Niners’ 2020 NFL schedule gets a bit clearer.
At least as far as which teams San Francisco will face next season.
The league’s rotation automatically means the 49ers will play both the NFC East and AFC East next year, and the team’s first-place finish opens up the door for some tough opponents, at least in theory, after the Niners received a third-place schedule following their 4-12 finish in 2018.
