It’s not every year fans are treated to NFL record-setting performances. But for San Francisco 49ers fans watching tight end George Kittle in 2018, they were.
All Kittle did last season was break the single-season record for most receiving yards by a tight end, breaking former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski’s 2012 mark by putting up an astounding 1,377 yards over the course of the year.
Kittle also became the first 49ers pass catcher to record 1,000-plus yards since wide receiver Anquan Boldin back in 2014, while also becoming the first tight end in franchise history to reach that benchmark in a single year, too.
