Finally, a Niner Noise piece focusing almost solely on San Francisco 49ers long-snappers!
In this “Who Is?” installment, the focus is on long-snapper Colin Holba, who joined the Niners in December of 2018 after being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars. San Francisco had a need, following the 10-game suspension dished out to the team’s incumbent long-snapper, Kyle Nelson, late in the year.
Holba ended up playing four games with the 49ers last season. And with Nelson’s suspension carrying over into 2019, it looks like the former’s role is already determined.
Yet there is some controversy — there has to be some, right — regarding Holba’s future, and a lot of it will depend on the numbers and the production.
