On one hand, it’s a bonus the San Francisco 49ers are going to be forced with some difficult roster decisions once training camp comes to a close before Week 1 this September.
It’s an indication the roster, as a whole, is improving. If a team is cutting players who’d have little chance of making other teams’ rosters elsewhere, the general health of what ends up being the 53-man roster during the regular season usually isn’t good.
When teams are cutting players who’d be easy additions elsewhere, even as possible starters, it means the depth at those players’ positions is much better.
