Generally speaking, Rounds 1 through 3 garner the vast majority of attention in the NFL Draft. Day-three picks are usually meant to add roster depth and the occasional hidden gem.
But for the San Francisco 49ers, who still have a good number of holes on their roster entering 2019, a quality fourth-round pickup would do a lot of good.
The Niners haven’t had a lot of luck in the fourth round, especially as of late. But one has to recall the team’s 1986 selection of edge rusher and Hall of Famer Charles Haley, so there’s always that hope.
