For the 16th time in their history, the San Francisco 49ers are headed to the NFC Championship Game. This Sunday, they will face off against the Green Bay Packers, with the winner going on to Miami to face the winner of the AFC title game earlier that day.
This marks the eighth time that the 49ers and Packers have met in the playoffs, and their second Championship game overall. Green Bay owned San Francisco when the teams were facing off during the 1990s, sans The Catch II.
The Packers were able to maintain some form of dominance as we entered the 2000s.
