Perhaps it was a little strange the San Francisco 49ers elected not to use one of their five selections in the 2020 NFL Draft on a cornerback.
While nowhere near as deep as the pool of wide receiver prospects, and the Niners grabbed two players for that position, there were a number of solid cornerback options late into the draft. And yet general manager John Lynch and Co. elected to avoid this position, only grabbing former Missouri corner DeMarkus Acy after the draft as an undrafted free agent.
Aside from depth, which is always important, San Francisco seems to have its starting trio of cornerbacks in place for the upcoming season.
