San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan hopes to have some difficult decisions when it comes to formulating his 53-man roster for the 2019 regular season.
Difficult decisions means the Niners roster is improved over the last two years, and the hope would be for Shanahan and his coaching staff to be forced to part ways with contributors who might otherwise be able to serve significant roles on most other teams around the league.
Yet those difficult decisions reach further than just who makes the 53-man cut. It also translates over in determining the depth chart.
