One of the teams in Week 5’s Monday Night Football matchup, the San Francisco 49ers, was expected to be little better than a low-ranked, middle-of-the-road squad when all those previews for 2019 were coming out.
The Cleveland Browns, meanwhile, were overly hyped and pegged as possible AFC contenders.
A quarter of the way through the season, however, the Niners sit at a perfect 3-0, while Cleveland has been the anomaly, having an up-and-down season and a 2-2 record to show for it.
Needless to say, Monday’s contest between the 49ers and Browns will say a lot about both teams and the direction in which they’re heading.
