The San Francisco 49ers are expected to be big players in NFL free agency, which officially starts on March 13. But with teams allowed to engage in contract negotiations two days earlier, it only makes sense you’re starting to hear news and rumors linking squads to pending free agents.
One such report came from Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, who reported both the Niners and New York Jets were interested in pending free-agent linebacker Kwon Alexander.
Additionally, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Alexander doesn’t expect to be back in Tampa Bay this upcoming season and will look to make between $12 million and $13 million per year on a new deal:
#Buccaneers LB Kwon Alexander texted a group of his Tampa teammates a short while ago telling them he's going to miss them, source says.
