The San Francisco 49ers used their second and final seventh-round draft pick to select Middle Tennessee State University wide receiver Richie James. James caught over 100 passes in each of his first two seasons at MTSU before missing over half of the 2017 season due to multiple injuries.
The 49ers will have high expectations for their final pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, after general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan drafted safety Adrian Colbert with their final selection in last year’s draft. Colbert started six games for the Niners at free safety last season, and may keep his starting job in 2018.
