The San Francisco 49ers did a reverse order of their first round selections as they took John Theus, an offensive lineman, after taking a defensive lineman earlier in the fifth round.
Theus has a very solid track record as a three-year starter in the SEC (quite an accomplishment in and of itself). Yet there are extreme concerns about his potential at the next level. John Theus did struggle against better talent in the SEC and does not appear to have the mass and strength necessary at this point to be an effective offensive tackle.
