The 49ers’ first round pick, as of now, is the only one they have in the first four rounds of the 2020 NFL draft. Niners have some tough decisions to make this offseason, especially when it comes to NFL Free Agency. With Arik Armstead, Emmanuel Sanders and Jimmie Ward all hitting free agency, the Niners could look to fill holes in the NFL draft. In the latest 2020 NFL Mock Draft, host Tom Downey projects San Francisco to draft safety Grant Delpit from LSU with the #31 pick in the NFL draft.
Grant Delpit is the kind of player that can plug in a start right away. At 6’3”, 200 pounds, Delpit can play in the box and in coverage. If the 49ers lose Ward in free agency, they’ll need Grant Delpit to fill a void rather than trading their 1st round pick for later draft picks
If the 49ers lose Jimmie Ward in free agency, look for the 49ers to target a safety in the NFL Draft. Delpit finished his career with 199 tackles, 17 for loss, 7 sacks, 8 interceptions and 24 pass break ups.
If you think the 49ers should trade back a late 1st round pick for more picks, let us know in the comments section! And if you haven't yet subscribed, let's get it done Niner Gang!
