After previous reports that the Baltimore Ravens would release starting center Jeremy Zuttah, he's instead being traded. The Ravens announced Wednesday that they're sending Zuttah to the San Francisco 49ers.
The two teams will swap 6th round picks in the deal, with the Ravens getting pick No. 186 and the 49ers getting pick No. 198. The move also clears up $5.8 million in cap space.
Zuttah is a former Pro Bowl center and should provide an upgrade at center for the Niners. The 49ers played Daniel Kilgore this year at center, but he wasn't great. The 49ers shouldn't need to clear a roster spot at the position, since Marcus Martin was waived earlier this offseason.
Potential replacements already on the roster for the Ravens are John Urschel and Ryan Jensen. They could try to sign or draft someone too.
