The NFL Draft is just a week away, and there are plenty of San Francisco 49ers rumors floating around. The 49ers have a plenty of needs to address, and plenty of draft picks to do it. The 49ers could go plenty of directions in the first and second round, which is why they've been linked to numerous players thus far. But the draft isn't the only thing going on, as Josh Norman has hit the open market. The 49ers could be the front-runners to land him. Let's get you caught up to speed with all the latest draft rumors, news and speculation surrounding the 49ers.
49ers Might Not Land Norman
Although the 49ers have been linked heavily to Josh Norman, there's one report that the 49ers won't end up signing the former Panthers CB.
I do not expect the 49ers to make a run at signing Josh Norman

While Silver is one of the few saying the Niners won't go after Norman, another team might be the new favorite.
#Redskins sent the plane to pick up Josh Norman. 1. Private planes are cool. 2. Makes it much tougher to actually leave without a contract
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 22, 2016
The Redskins are basically doing everything they can to make sure Norman doesn't leave without a contract. The Redskins were Norman's first visit, meaning the 49ers might not even get a chance to talk with Norman.
Jon Gruden Says 49ers Should Take Connor Cook
The 49ers still have Blaine Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick at QB, but they could still take a QB in this year's draft. ESPN's Jon Gruden says the 49ers should consider taking Michigan State QB Connor Cook.
"I don’t know anyone else that has won 34 games at Michigan State," Gruden told the Sacramento Bee. "So I think he’d be a great fit for the 49ers, personally."
Of course, there's a running joke that Gruden has never met a QB he doesn't like. However, the 49ers have shown interest in Cook in the pre-draft process.
Paxton Lynch In The First?
The 49ers aren't likely to take Memphis QB Paxton Lynch in the first round. CBS' Jason La Canfora says that while he can't rule out the 49ers (or Browns) taking Lynch, it's unlikely either team will take him in the first round. With Goff and Wentz off the board, the 49ers could look to address some defensive issues this year.
