San Francisco 49ers star defensive end Aldon Smith will be serving the last game of his nine-game suspension today while his team plays the Saints, though an ESPN report says that Smith could've been on the field if he had fulfilled all of his counseling requirements.
Smith's agent, Doug Hendrickson, refutes that report, saying that Smith "upheld all requirements" of his suspension.
He went on to say that Smith had no specific counseling requirements attached to his suspension, but confirmed he did receive counseling from the league and external sources.
Smith also completed 280 hours of community service. He will be reinstated to the 49ers on Monday.
