The San Francisco 49ers are reeling after two straight blowout losses, but they're trying to get their season back on track in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers. Here's the latest surrounding the 49ers as they prepare for Sunday:
Colin Kaepernick ready to move past Cardinals performance
Kaepernick has a disastrous performance last Sunday in Arizona, becoming the first quarterback since hte 1920's to throw two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns on his first four passes, but he insists there won't be any carry over and is ready to move on to Green Bay:
“I’m not too big on feelings,” Kaepernick said. “Feelings aren’t going to help me win a game. I’m focused on doing what I can to help this team win.I have confidence in myself as far as being able to go out and help this team win. What other people think of how I play and how I go about things really isn’t something I worry about.”
Reggie Bush ready to return
Running back Reggie Bush appears ready to return to the lineup after being a full participant in Wednesday's practice, according to CSNBayArea. Bush has been recovering from a calf strain he suffered in San Francisco's season-opening win over the Vikings.
Jerryd Hayne still not getting a chance to return kicks
Hayne has been successful returning punts for the 49ers through the first three games, including an impressive 37-yard return on Sunday, but special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey said he still won't be returning kickoffs:
“It’s kind of two different skill sets. Not to say that Jarryd can’t do it, but that’s not his strong suit,” McGaughey said. “His strong suit is punt return, and that’s where we’re going to continue to let him flourish.”
