UPDATE:
The 49ers have made their decision. They are hiring Chip Kelly.
Original Story Below:
The San Francisco 49ers are close to making a hire. The team is expected to hire one of two coaches in the next 24 hours.
49ers expected to choose between Chip Kelly and Mike Shanahan for their next HC, per league sources. Decision likely within next 24 hours.

Shanahan hasn't coached in the NFL since 2013, when he was fired by the Redskins. Kelly was fired before Week 17 this season by the Eagles. There could be a disagreement within the 49ers over which coach to hire.
Might be of some interest: I hear Eddie DeBartolo Jr. is a proponent of Mike Shanahan for the 49ers job. I hear Trent Baalke is not.

Shanahan would likely want some say over personnel decisions, something GM Trent Baalke likely doesn't want to give up. Kelly might be Baalke's preferred target because Kelly won't want much say in personnel. It didn't go well for Kelly in Philadelphia when he was the de-facto GM.
