The San Francisco 49ers have work yet to do to improve themselves at cornerback, and they're now left to look at second- and third-tier options with under a week gone in the 2015 NFL free agency period.
According to the NFL Network, the team will met with Chargers free-agent Shareece Wright on Friday. The 27-year-old started 27 games in the past two seasons, but only had one interception to his credit over that span. The 5-11, 182-pound Wright has the ability to play nickel cornerback, but he was mostly lined up on the outside during his time with the Chargers.

Pro Football Focus placed Wright in their bottom 10 among starting cornerbacks in each of the last two years, so there's plenty of room for improvement if the 49ers do indeed bring him on.
The 49ers are at risk at losing all three of their unrestricted free-agent cornerbacks this offseason, as Chris Culliver signed a multi-year deal with the Redskins on Friday and neither Perrish Cox nor Chris Cook is favored to return to the 49ers at this juncture.
