The San Francisco 49ers were staring at a Week 4 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles without the services of their top two tight ends, Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald.
With Davis having returned to practice and seemingly likely to play, all eyes have been on McDonald to see how he's progressing from a knee injury that sidelined him in Week 3.
Per Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, there might be nothing to worry about:
TE Vance McDonald just went through a work out on the field. He declared himself ready for Sunday's game.

McDonald didn't make a full return to practice on Thursday, and neither did Davis. Both were slowly worked into the speed of things, with the likely aim of keeping them as healthy as possible for Sunday.
Both would be huge weapons for QB Colin Kaepernick to have at 100% - especially with the possibility of a shootout looming against the high-powered offense of the Eagles.
