The NFL schedule for next season has just been released, so here are the three biggest match-ups for the San Francisco 49ers heading into their 2014 schedule:
Sunday, September 28th vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Two offenses built to run the ball clash in a game built for the lights of prime-time. Chip Kelly's dynamic halfback duo of LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles square off against Colin Kaepernick and Frank Gore in a game loaded with star power.
Expect gaudy stats on the ground and big play after big play in what could end up being one of the most underrated match-ups on the 2014 NFL schedule.
Sunday Night Football, October 19th at Denver Broncos
In an interconference showdown between two teams that could very well lock horns in Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona, starting Colin Kaepernick and a hungry San Francisco 49ers squad will be looking to make a statement in Peyton Manning's backyard.
The 49ers have a brutal projected road schedule in 2014, with visits to Denver, New Orleans, Seattle, and Dallas amongst others. Beating Denver at Mile High Stadium would go a long way in relieving some of that.
Sunday, December 14th at Seattle Seahawks
The two games against the 49ers play against the Seattle Seahawks any season qualify as the biggest two games of the year regardless. However, this game takes on added importance after the goings-on from a certain game back in January.
If the 49ers can exorcise their demons from the 2014 NFC Championship Game in front a raucous 12th Man, it could serve notice that the 2014 incarnation of the San Francisco 49ers are ready to take the leap from title contenders to Super Bowl champions.
