ColinaKaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers must be getting used to the spotlight by now. The Niners are traveling to London for an October 27th matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and according to a report in the San Jose Mercury News, the game at Wembley Stadium will be covered by the Discovery Channel, who are filming a "Hard Knocks"-style special on the NFL's games in London this year.
The two-part special, called 'NFL in Season' will also cover the lead-in to the Steelers-Vikings game in London later this month. Much of the candor and unfiltered access that make Hard Knocks such a hit will probably be lost in the the transition from HBO to cable, but there's still plenty of interest in behind-the-scenes NFL programming.
The matchup will be San Francisco's second regular-season game in London. They beat the Denver Broncos 24-16 at Wembley back on Halloween 2010, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter thanks to quarterback Troy Smith.
The first part of the show, focusing on the Steelers-Vikings matchup, will air at 10 p.m. PT on Oct. 4. Part two, focusing on the 49ers game, will air at 10 p.m. PT on Nov. 1.
