In his press conference on Monday, San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed that All-Pro inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman could be back on the practice field this week after rehabbing from a serious knee injury.
“Yeah, we’ll see,” Harbaugh said, via Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area. “He has been doing some cutting and cutting pretty darn well. So, we’ll see. Tomorrow will be a big day and we’ll see if that window gets open to start practicing.”
The San Francisco 49ers will have their normal off day on Monday before returning to work on Tuesday. The team's first full practice of the week will be on Wednesday as the team prepares to take on the New York Giants on Sunday.
If Bowman does resume practicing this week, the team will have a 21-day window to activate Bowman to the team's 53-man roster starting the moment he sets foot in practice.
Per Maiocco, "Bowman was seen working at nearly full speed as he mirrored the side-to-side movements of Kurt Schmidt, the 49ers’ strength, nutrition and conditioning assistant."
Therefore, all signs seem to pointing to Bowman as a go when the team begins its preparations for New York on Tuesday.
