CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Aaron Shampklin rushed for 178 yards and four touchdowns and Harvard opened its 145th season with a 36-14 victory over San Diego on Saturday.
Shampklin ran for three of his touchdowns in the first quarter, including a career-long 64-yarder for the sophomore, when the Crimson took a 27-3 lead in their highest-scoring quarter since 2013. Shampklin's four rushing TDs were one short of the school record set in 1951 by Tom Ossman. Devin Darrington added 98 yards rushing and a score.
Justice Shelton-Mosley had 127 yards receiving -- Harvard's first 100-yard receiving game since 2016 -- on seven catches.
