No. 3 seed San Diego State women’s tennis will advance to the Mountain West Championship after eliminating No. 2 seed Air Force by a final score of 4-2 in the semifinals on April 26 at the Aztec Tennis Center.
The win marked the Aztecs’ (15-9, 3-1) second 4-2 victory in as many days at the Mountain West Championship.
The semifinals opened with doubles play, where Air Force (22-3, 4-1) took a quick 1-0 lead from the start.
Air Force senior Elizabeth Barnickel teamed up with junior Nadeen Lieberman to defeat SDSU senior Magda Aubets and sophomore Abbie Mulbarger, 6-1.
