Aztec football loses in overtime to South Alabama

Momentum has no loyalty.

It only takes one play for it to change sides, it will clearly give one side an edge and its fingerprints were all over San Diego State University’s 34-27 overtime loss to the University of South Alabama Saturday night.

With a 27-24 lead and only two minutes left in the game the Aztecs seemingly had the momentum and the game in the bag; however, the Jaguars had a different plan.

USA’s senior quarterback Cody Clements found a wide-open junior tight end Gerald Everett across the middle of the field that would ultimately set up junior kicker Aleem Sunanon for the tying field goal.
