After losing four of their first five games in the month of July, the Padres needed to dip into their reservoir of “Wil Power” in order to find the little extra juice necessary to come out with a 7-4 victory on Tuesday night over the Nationals at Petco Park.
Wil Myers opened the game’s scoring with a three-run bullet over the right field fence to give the Friars a comfortable 3-0 lead in the fourth. One inning later, that lead came and went as the Nats got their own three-run homer from left fielder Josh Harrison.
